Passionate Communicator.
Avid Researcher.
Confident Leader.
A Door County native born in the heart of Wisconsin's "thumb" peninsula, I have always been sure of two things: confidence is the key to success... and life is always better when you're laughing. These two mantras have made me the person I am today- a 22 year old (almost) graduate with a confident passion for research and learning with an uncontrollable laughing addiction.
For as long as I can remember, my parents have labeled me as a “talker.” I claimed this to be a positive attribute, deciding that I was a born-to-be communicator. Through both written and verbal communication, I believe words have the power to change the world. I began to ask myself how trained and experienced communicators, like myself, can stand as both leaders and motivators in any professional setting.
Research. Some cringe at the even sight or thought of the eight letter term. But, as an always curious individual, I have embraced the tool, skill and idea of research throughout my every day life. As a college student, this obsession become even greater, as I began using research in almost all of my courses. Furthermore, I began growing a passion for research in the field of communication, leading me to apply and be accepted to graduate school to pursue a master's degree, submit my written work to communication association conferences and reflect on my personal studies with professionals to create implications and suggestions for future research in the field. My personal research focuses specifically on organizational communication, nonprofit organizational change and corporate social responsibility (CSR).
Throughout my educational career, I stood out as confident and motivational-- two crucial attributes that have helped shaped my personality to become one of a leader among my friends, classmates and peers. As an individual who is constantly eager to learn and take on any challenge, I believe this leadership quality has helped me in succeeding among various groups and in various professional settings.
As a gifted and masterful communicator, fearless leader and driven researcher, I believe my unique skills, interests and passions bring a new and refreshing perspective and personality to any professional work environment. I look forward to expanding my passion for communication by pursuing a Masters of Arts (M.A.) in Communication Studies at Marquette University this fall. Stay tuned for my published works and research that I will continually showcase on my portfolio!
